Unity wasn't a boardroom concept; it emerged from the real frustrations of educators and administrators. Our journey reflects a commitment to technology that genuinely serves schools.
With decades of experience managing educational institutions, we uniquely understand the complex challenges of school management, from regulatory requirements to operational workflows.
Unity reflects our vision for educational technology: a comprehensive, adaptable solution designed to empower, not constrain.
Director
As a school administrator, I keenly felt the daily frustrations of managing educational institutions with a fragmented tech stack. We were juggling a separate ERP, CRM, HRMS, LMS, Google Workspace, Tally, banking solutions, inventory systems, parent apps, and more – each designed in isolation.
I became a coordinator between these disconnected systems, pleading with vendors to integrate rather than focusing on education. Adding to the burden, most charged per student or user, penalizing our growth without fully meeting our needs.
I had an epiphany: technology should adapt to us, not the other way around. And why should growth incur higher software costs? This vision made me design the Unity transformation – a comprehensive, source-available platform designed to fit educational institutions.
What started as a solution for Walnut Schools has since expanded, now serving educational institutions across India. Though I still lead Walnut Schools, Unity has become a community effort, empowering educators to build superior educational technology together.
Most ERPs force schools to adapt to rigid software. Unity reverses this, providing a source-available, highly configurable platform that adapts to your institution’s unique workflows and requirements. requirements.
Educational tech fragmentation leads to inefficiency and administrative strain. Unity solves this by unifying all functions—from admissions to alumni, curriculum to fees—into one seamless, integrated platform.
Traditional per-student pricing punishes success, taxing you more as you enroll more students. For schools which want a predictable cost, Unity’s one-time implementation fee and Annual Maintenance Contract is a great fit regardless of growth, allowing you to invest in education, not software licenses.
Unity’s source-available licensing gives institutions true ownership of their technology, eliminating vendor lock-in. You gain the freedom to customize, extend, and maintain your implementation, whether working with us or other Frappe ecosystem partners.
