The Founder's Journey

As a school administrator, I keenly felt the daily frustrations of managing educational institutions with a fragmented tech stack. We were juggling a separate ERP, CRM, HRMS, LMS, Google Workspace, Tally, banking solutions, inventory systems, parent apps, and more – each designed in isolation.
I became a coordinator between these disconnected systems, pleading with vendors to integrate rather than focusing on education. Adding to the burden, most charged per student or user, penalizing our growth without fully meeting our needs.

I had an epiphany: technology should adapt to us, not the other way around. And why should growth incur higher software costs? This vision made me design the Unity transformation – a comprehensive, source-available platform designed to fit educational institutions.

What started as a solution for Walnut Schools has since expanded, now serving educational institutions across India. Though I still lead Walnut Schools, Unity has become a community effort, empowering educators to build superior educational technology together.
